 General Rebate Questions

Q:  How do I check the status of my rebate?
A:  You can log on to www.web-rebates.com/sony/status.asp to check the status of your rebate. If you do not have access to the website you can call 1-800-268-3438. Please allow 8-10 weeks for your rebate check following receipt by Sony's rebate center of a properly completed rebate submission.

Q:  Where can I obtain a current promotion coupon?
A:  For specific promotion information, including a copy of the current coupons, visit www.web-rebates.com/sony or call 1-800-268-3438. If you cannot locate your offer on this site, please call 1-866-838-0421.

Q:  What if the thermal rebate form conditions are different from the rebate tearpads?
A:  Thermal rebate forms generated by retailers should have the same terms as the rebate tearpads. Please call 1-800-268-3438 if there is a discrepancy in the thermal and the tearpad to get clarification.

Q:  I think I was rejected in error. Who can I contact to discuss the error?
A:  If you have questions regarding your Sony rebate submission, please call 1-800-268-3438.

Q:  My rebate was validated but I have not received it yet.
A:  For check or premium item delivery, please allow 8-10 weeks for processing following receipt of the completed promotion submission by the rebate center. After this time period, please call 1-800-268-3438 or email us at Sony@web-rebates.com.

Q:  Do I need to send my original receipt?
A:  Always check the specific terms and conditions of each offer closely to ensure that an original is not required. Generally speaking, a copy is acceptable.

Q:  Do I need to send my original UPC?
A:  Always check the specific terms and conditions of each offer closely to verify if an original or copy of UPC is required. If an original UPC is required, then you must send this in to be eligible for the promotion.

Q:  Does Sony accept copies or handwritten UPC codes or serial numbers?
A:  Consumers must meet all requirements listed on the rebate form in order to be eligible for the promotion.

Q:  Where do I find the serial number? It is not on the sticker.
A:  You may locate the serial number on the bottom, or back of the product. Also, sometimes the serial number can be located on the UPC code, generally starting with an "S" prefix.

Q:  Where can I find the service tag number on my notebook?
A:  The service tag number can be found on a label on the back of your notebook. The number is listed below the model name. Be sure to include the entire number including any letters within the number (example: Service Tag: A1111AAA).

Q:  What is the box spec label and where can I find it on the box?
A:  The box spec label is the large label found on the outside of the box. It includes product information, returns and support information, and barcodes on the top right side and at the bottom of the label. Be sure to include a copy of the entire label, including all of the barcodes on the label.

Q:  Do I still qualify for the rebate if I purchased an open box or display unit from the retailer?
A:  No. Consumers must abide by all terms and conditions presented on the rebate coupon, which excludes open box or display products. A new model must be purchased.

Q:  Is a letter from the retailer acceptable for open box purchases?
A:  No. Consumers must abide by all terms and conditions presented on the rebate coupon, which excludes open box or display products. A new model must be purchased.

Q:  I purchased a refurbished product, and it does not have a UPC barcode. Will I qualify for a rebate/promotion?
A:  No. Consumers must abide by all terms and conditions presented on the rebate coupon, which excludes refurbished products. A new model must be purchased.

Q:  I threw the box away. Can I still qualify for the rebate?
A:  Consumers must meet all requirements listed on the rebate form in order to be eligible for the promotion.

Q:  Can I still qualify for the rebate if the product was given as a gift and I do not have the box, serial number, or receipt?
A:  Consumers must meet all requirements listed on the rebate form in order to be eligible for the promotion. Prior to giving a Sony product as a gift, Sony recommends that the purchaser retain all necessary documentation (e.g. UPC code from package, receipt, etc.) in order to redeem any applicable rebates.

Q:  I purchased the product in the US, but I do not have a US address. Will my rebate/promotion be mailed to me outside the US?
A:  No. In order to receive a rebate or premium item, a mailing address in the fifty United States, excluding territories, is required per the terms and condition of the offer. Sony does not mail rebate checks or premium items outside of the United States.

Q:  I purchased two or more of the same product. Can I get a rebate for all?
A:  Consumers must meet all requirements listed on the rebate form in order to be eligible for the promotion. Some promotions have a limit per consumer or per household. Refer to the terms and conditions of each specific rebate offer.

Q:  I do not have a physical address, but I have a P.O Box. Can I still receive my rebate/promotion?
A:  No. A physical address is required to be eligible for a rebate or promotion. P.O Box addresses are not eligible.

Q:  My rebate check expired before I could cash it. Can I get another check reissued?
A:  No. As stated in the terms and conditions for the offer, rebate checks are void if not cashed within 90 days of issuance and cannot be reissued.
